well, remember that eventually one of the snakes is supposed to take over mentally and the humanoid body withers. this is probably the first step in that process. i just wonder what’ll happen if modest actively resists it.
Well, that’s not *exactlies* how it works. Modest’s body will withers, but they shares a mind split intos five. Though what the Hydra’s personality is patterneds on is nots clear, an’ it might bes one ofs the snakes froms the hair? (Rei is goings by strips up to this point, because those is what she remembers bests, an’ also no spoilerses)
I always hated the “cheating” thing in school. The only real life equivalent is copyright infringement etc. and they teach you about that in highschool. Why can’t we teach cooperation and follow the group-work environment that occurs when you slink out of the education system into a job or community?
Because the goal of a test is so the teacher can see what YOU can do. If you work on a test together with a friend and that friend knows more than you then you’ll answer a lot of questions right that you don’t actually know how to answer. Then the teacher will look at your test, think that you can actually answer them (when you couldn’t) and move you on to the next part of the work. The result of this is that you’ll be doing work that’s too hard for you to learn and that you won’t be given the chance to learn the work you were doing previously.
Well, not all jobs in the real world function on “group work” alone. Also, when you do have group work, it usually boils down to one or two people doing the actual work while the rest just coast along for the ride.
I think this definitely calls for some other types of tests to find out how separate/connected they are. Much the same way as identifying an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) for students with either learning disabilities or accelerated education areas.
So just one of them has to take the test. Still it must be hard to wright without any fingers. I still find this a little odd.

I guess snake hair better hope penmanship doesn’t count towards the grade then.
That’s the one that’ll be taking over at some point.
AWWW poor Modest
seriously? the hair is part of her. -_-‘
So one “strand” of her “hair” has a nasty honest streak…
It’s a dark day when your hair betrays you.
Smart snake is honest snake.
I’m enjoying the fact the hair snakes have distinct personalities.
Just a little odd??
The hair is rebelling! Mutiny!
Mrs. Booth fed the snakes part of her stolen sandwich. Of course they will side with her now.
But I do see a picture of a sheep on that test form. That’s the answer to everything, so Modest doesn’t need any help.
That’s just adorable! Her hair is smarter than she is…
Yeah, adorable.
(This is going to get so miserable later oh my god you have no idea.)

Things are looking grim for the girl part being the dominant personality when it’s time for her to “grow up” like her mom.
If you don’t know the answers, draw sheep.
It sucks when your hair is smarter than you. I hope Modest will you her hair’s vast knowledge for good.
In the future Modest’s hair will become a rocket scientist for NASA and she’ll be the poor shlub hanging out drawing sheep like in panel 1. 😛
Honest hair!
oh god and I just realized her test just has a drawing of a sheep on it.
Oh em gee! I just noticed the sheep after the third viewing!
Will Modest and each snake get their own separate grades?
That sheep tho
It’d be neat if not depending on the snakes for answers or guidance means that she doesn’t lose herself when she gets older…
The real complications will arise when the hair gets to move on to the next grade, and Modest gets held back.
I love how she is drawing a sheep..
The cuteness! It’s over 9000!!!!

Does the rest of the hair not have to take any tests?
