I broke my elbow rollerblading so Charles has my utmost sympathy!! Broken joints are the suck. (Well, okay, no broken bone is FUN) .. Vibes for him and a quick recovery!
What do kids do when they manage to stay up super late, anyway?
When I was a kid all I did was watch TV, which back was mostly vintage Hollywood stuff … and, of course, Portland Wrestling! I think even with video game consoles and widespread Internet access, kids staying up late nowadays are still just frittering away time less usefully and entertainingly than they would during the day.
In other words, don’t let your kids stay up late or they’ll just get lazy and fat and probably more stupid, too.
Yeah, Portland wrestling for sure.

Nurse: But doctor don’t you think removing his arm for the sake of a joke is a bit extreme?

Also it’s good to see Charles is willing to take up the mantle of fatherhood when Jake is physically unable to do so.
Geez, and just after being acquitted for murdering you and losing his other arm to chainsaw unicorn attack. Poor Charles can’t catch a break.

Best to real-world Charles The Fish Scientist – hope the surgery went well. I’d be interested to read the police report to see if anybody spotted any odd-looking unicorns in the vicinity…
Thanks to everyone for sympathy and best wishes. The surgery went really well. I don’t even have a cast. We puzzled the nurses with chainsaw unicorn jokes, and they initialed my shoulder and wrist so they’d know which arm to chop off (err, fix). I haven’t met squidusa yet, so I’m still looking forward to that.
I hate how everything is medusa’s fault but she never pays for anything or learns a lesson, they say ignorance is bliss but it is also a massive character flaw and very obnoxious.
She’s a child. I wouldn’t say Marah’s death was really her fault, nor Charles losing his arm.
