Its hot out and I keep wishing I was on vacation. Time for a beach party!
I got this idea from a mean spirited comment on Deviant Art a few months ago claiming that Deena (Meg’s mom, pictured on the right) was ugly. Besides being rude, the comment just didn’t make sense to me. When I was originally creating Deena back in Season 6 I decided she’d be really good looking. And if you look back at the comments on that first strip, you’ll see a number of readers agreed! I had already been planning to do a beach episode image of some kind, but after that comment I decided to make Deena the center of it.

…. Oh great, no my mind can’t let go of the possible effects of alcohol would do to a mermaid.
You, know, since alcohol is a dehydrator–it’s why it causes hangovers as your body is needing more water. Gah! my mind goes to weird places!
And fun was had all around. Huh, you’d think Modest would at least be wearing a bikini top.
She likes to be naked.
She doesn’t have anything to cover up. Or hold a bikini in place.
Mermaids are known for getting attention and mobility in the ocean.
Today a human is beating them at both.
