Why is it called super Mario Bros if Mario is his first name… But what if Mario is actually their last name and we only know Luigis first name and we’ve actually never known Mario’s real first nam!? forgive me internet its 3:30 am I’ve gotten little sleep.
I think thats actually true? Mario’s name is Mario Mario.
I’m pretty sure Nintendo has rejected that idea. It was true in the live action movie, but I don’t think it’s true in the greater Mario mythos.

Nintendo rejected it, then un-rejected it apparently, from the Wikipedia article:
“In 2012, after Charles Martinet voiced Mario declaring himself “Mario Mario” at the San Diego Comic-Con, the next month Satoru Iwata said he had no last name, which Shigeru Miyamoto agreed with the month after. Two months after Iwata’s death in July 2015, Miyamoto changed his stance September 2015 at the Super Mario Bros. 30th Anniversary festival, asserting that his name was indeed Mario Mario.”
So latest is that his name is Mario Mario. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they change their minds again in the future, though.

You’d think Medusa would relate to someone finding himself into a different place after going down plumbing.

She obviously isn’t super familiar with the game. probably only plays Smash.

Well, Mario has a princess (two of them, actually) and a Mushroom Kingdom. (I agree that it’s weird, but weird’s never been a problem for me.)
I dunno, she’s got a pretty solid argument there.

As someone who travels to another through an inter dimensional toilet portal, Iām not sure Modest should really get to judge Mario for being a plumber.
