I saw a snake at a garage sale when I was 4 or 5. It was hurt (I think) and totally freaking out, twitching and hissing and flopping around behind a garbage can. It was moving so fast (but stuck in one place. In hindsight I think it might have been partially trapped under the can) that I could barley see what it was. I ran off to tell my parents about it but they wouldn’t believe me. To this day it’s still one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen.
poor jake…
I like how she’s just randomly screaming, holding the snake and shaking it in front of her face xD
Her hat disappeared in the last panel.
It fell off. I meant to draw it falling in panel 3, but I forgot.
AAAAAAAAH!
Yes, because if something is freaking you out, the absolute first thing you must do is pick it up without caution and shove it in your friend’s face.
Where did Medusa’s hat go in the fourth panel…?
Encounters with snakes are always interesting o.O
I kind of feel sorry for that poor snake. It wasn’t hurting anyone. I imagine the snake is thinking “What the HELL just happened???” You would think someone who is about 60% snake herself wouldn’t be so freaked out by one.
From her “Spy!” reaction in the last strip I get the idea that she’s freaking out for a different reason than any of us would.
As for seeing snakes as a kid… Once, digging in my back garden, I thought I saw a giant snake tunnelling underground, but it turned out that I’m just a paranoid schizophrenic instead.
Well, somebody else’s hair lurking under a rock would freak me out too. Especially if it was hissing at me.
Especially if you had green hair, and the hair under the rock was brunette.
the one i feel sorry for is the snake. minding it’s own business, hunting small critters, and this crazy giant freaky snake picks you up, and chases a monster while shaking you like a rhythmic gymnast’s ribbon. funny though.
This comic post made me laugh hard. Each panel down made me laugh than the last. I knew it was a good idea to follow this webcomic from four months ago.
Oh my god! That snake is freaked out.
What’s sad is I know people whose D&D characters would do that if they ever encountered a snake.
So, is there significance to the green glowing oversized eyes ? Maybe next issue will tell. I’m going “whattheheck?”! Thus far, I think its the first apparently non-sentient creature we’ve seen in the magical land of Yeld. I’m waiting for the snake to say something like ” Hey! I’m your enchanted half-brother; have your friend kiss me and I’ll turn back into a prince!”
Poor snake :’-(
(okay both snakes, the real one and the one in this strip).
hmm… I wonder what her hair is thinking. I hope the spy lands on something fluffy and not that knife.
Hehe, facial expressions of that snake are awesome.
I didn’t know snakes could have them 😛
Ironically, snake-throwing tournaments were one of the reasons MM left Yeld in the first place.
dont worry jake that snake is long dead
your story reminds me of this time me and my brother caught a snake and kept it in a box in the garage, i was told it escaped but in i think my aprents maybe let it go
that little snake is gonna have whiplash by the end of this event of Ahhhh!
Freaking epic. I saw this this morning after I woke up early for no reason (thinking I had to go to work earlier than I did) and this cheered me right up. I laughed my butt off. xD
I have a similar snake story. I when I was a kid, there was a rattler snake in our back yard that was so loud we could all hear it. I even had a nightmare about it being two headed.
LOL
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaH
fORHEAD SNAKE.
This comic has the greatest dialogue ever.
This snake is not having the best day.
The snake is probably really confused “What the hell? I was just under my rock, and then… What the hell?”
