Well, I used 20XX because the time period of the comic is ambiguous. This sequence defiantly doesn’t take place in 2025 because it happened about 3 years ago in the comic’s timeline. But also its not clear exactly what year the current comic takes place. In Season 1 Modest goes to the midnight release of a Pokemon game that came out in 2010. About 4 years have passed in the comic since then. But its clearly not 2014. There’s been other games, TV shows, movies and real life events that happened after 2014 that have been mentioned in the comic. So I keep that date obscure.
20XX points out the ambiguity of the date and is a bit jarring. I think it would work better to have her reply “that was 100 years ago!” or “I first entered Yeld in 2010”. Those both keep the ambiguity, but are things a person would say instead of having a weird censored date that a person wouldn’t use.
So neither of them are going to realize the time passing faster in another realm trope?
They haven’t made it that far yet.
How silly of him to ask that question while in his horse form xD
At least that jolted Marah up.
Hey, that’s the same year the classic Mega Man games take place in!
So, either he lost track more than he thinks, or the time flows differently in Yeld compared to Earth. Neither would be surprising.
50 is a hundred in horse years
No, no, it can’t be 20XX. Where are all the reploids?
“You look horse years old.”
You might want to update 20XX to 2025. Loving this comic so far!

I mean, my intent is that she is saying the date. We, as readers are just meant to fill in the blank. But I’ll consider what you’re saying.
